Just now catching up with this. My love for Dalton knows no bounds.
1) His Bond is not only tough, but (especially in TLD) we see the soft-centre. The look he gives Kara after the "We are stuck in a Russian airbase in Afghanistan" makes me think he is really falling for this goofy girl.
2) I LOVE the scene where he wins her a stuffed animal. The look of intensity on his face when shooting what a rigged rifle in a stupid game was classic Bond.
3) The way he callously and coldly dispatches Necros, even though the man is begging for his life. That is perfect Bond.
Licence to Kill has one inescapable flaw. The decision to have Bond go rogue. You could easily figure out a way to make going after Sanchez in the interests of MI6 (Bond went after drug dealers at least twice in the books) and then layer the personal stuff on top of his mission. By having Bond go rogue, it made it too much like Lethal Weapon, etc...
Dalton will always be my favorite Bond. He had everything we ever wanted, only too soon after 91-year-old Roger Moore playing in the shower with Tanya Roberts to really get it.

I can see the appeal of boybands and girlbands (eye candy for the younger music fans). I can laugh at these novelty so bad they are good things like Richie Kavanagh, The Langer and Jumbo Breakfast, etc. BUT there is no excuse whatsoever for bad Irish country music by acts like Mike Denver and The 3 Amigos. Songs like 'On your wedding day' and 'Hold onto your hat' are simply awful. I don't know how many of these topped the Irish chart but most of them are awful. 'Wagon wheel' was a major Country and Irish hit a couple of years back for sure but at least this is a Bob Dylan cover, albeit not the greatest Dylan cover (go with Dylan's original instead). But still better than the rest of the C&I stuff which is total rubbish.

Where's Mike Denver, Derek Ryan, The 3 Amigos and all the other bad Country and Irish acts? They are the worst ever Irish artists imo. I'd listen to a bad boyband anytime before these.
